Acceptance into C-GCC's Massage Therapy program requires the following:
Attend a free Massage Therapy Information Session
Massage Therapy Information Sessions introduce potential students to our Massage Therapy program, degree requirements, admissions requirements and procedures (including transfer credit and advanced standing opportunities).
Attendance at an information session is mandatory for applicants to the Massage Therapy program. Massage Therapy Information Session dates and times are available by calling the Admissions Office at (518) 828-4181 ext. 5513.
Be ready to enter EN 101 - Composition (college level English)
The Admissions Office determines a student's proficiency in English by reviewing high school and/or college transcripts and/or placement test results. For more information about placement testing, please see our Placement Testing page.
Be reading at the twelfth grade level
All applicants to the Massage Therapy program are required to take the reading placement exam regardless of prior academic experience. For more information about placement testing, please see our Placement Testing page.
Be ready to enter BI 130 - Anatomy and Physiology I
To enter BI 130 students need to have passed (a grade of 65 or better) a Regents level high school or college level biology or chemistry within the last five years.
Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.25
Transfer students and students changing their curriculum to Massage Therapy must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.25.
Submit documentation of bodywork
An applicant to the Massage Therapy program must show documentation of receiving a full body massage from a licensed massage therapist within the last year is required. Bodywork forms are available in our Admissions Office. The form requires the applicant's name, social security number and signature and the name, signature and license number of the massage therapist.
