Circulation Policies

Loan Periods

All users have 30 days to borrow books and audiobooks from the circulating collection. During holidays and other times when the college is closed, the loan period is extended. Users may take out 25 books; however only 3 books per subject. Other limitations include: DVDs: 7 day loan, 2 per checkout. Materials in the Reserves Collection are loaned to students, faculty and college employees only and the loan periods vary.

Returns

Return all borrowed materials to the Circulation Desk. The Library provides a bookdrop for returns when the library is closed. Do not place CDs or DVDs in the bookdrop. Patrons are responsible for all materials borrowed on their card.

Renewals

Library materials can be renewed in person or by phone. C-GCC students, faculty and staff may renew online in Primo using college email address and password. Some renewal restrictions may apply.

Overdue Notices

When items are checked out, each user is notified of the due date by the date slip that is placed in all loaned items. Please make sure you return the item(s) on time. You will receive overdue notices after the item is 7 days late. We will continue to send up to four notices, one each week if the item is not returned. Please be aware that if you are a student, you will be placed on Academic/Financial Hold after the fourth notice. Financial Holds prevent you from getting grades, registering for classes, and borrowing from this Library. The Library system blocks patron accounts when items are overdue for more than 30 days. Borrowers are responsible for all fees for lost or damaged materials accrued on their library account. We do not accept replacement copies.

Mailing Address

Please keep us informed of any mailing address, email address and telephone changes. You are responsible for overdue books, even if the notices do not reach you.

Lost Library materials = if you checked it out, it means you have College property in your possession!

The borrower of lost material(s) will be charged the replacement cost of the item, plus a $10.00 processing fee. Remember, that is per item!

Holds

If there is a book, audiobook or DVD you are waiting for but someone has it out, let us know and we can place you in a holds queue. We will notify you when the item comes in. This will also prevent the item from being renewed.
