Columbia-Greene Community College Foundation invites you to its first annual Spring Craft & Vendor Fair, Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Join us for a full day of shopping, raffles, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny! A “preview” version of the annual C-GCC dance show, including performances by credit- and non-credit dance students, members of the C-GCC Daycare, and members of Roz’s Dance Works in Hudson.
The community is welcomed to attend this free performance, with a line-up that includes performances by credit- and non-credit dance students, and special appearances by Kuumba Drum and Dance and the Sternfeld Dance Competition Dancers. A vocal duet will also be performed by Rachel Arnwine and Hannah Dandurand.
On Thursday, May 15 at 6 p.m., Columbia-Greene Community College will host a Construction Technology Workshop offering more information about its Construction Technology Preservation Certificate program, enrolling now for Fall 2019! Potential students, building and construction business owners, interested community members, and others are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served. The community is invited to view a free public dress rehearsal of an all-new production, "Brooklyn Abridged." The show combines history, humor and heart with an eclectic cast and crew showcasing circus artistry, original live music, and live analog projections into intertwined vignettes that tell the story of the borough and the citizens who live, work, and play there. This event coincides with the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus residency week at C-GCC, May 20-25.
Columbia-Greene Community College has joined forces with Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Programs to present its third annual Ag Day on campus on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year, the free, rain-or-shine event has expanded in celebration of the 90th anniversary of 4-H, and will offer a wide variety of family-friendly activities including an agricultural vendor fair and demonstrations, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Wednesday, August 21, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. This event will share information regarding campus resources available to ‘adult’ (or ‘non-traditional’) students, as well as introduce new students to the campus community as a whole. Orientation 2019 will introduce new students to the campus community with the assistance of a group of Orientation Leaders, comprised of both students and staff. Breakout groups, interactive tours, and information sessions will be held throughout the day; refreshments will be available, and the event will conclude with lunch for new students, their families, and C-GCC faculty, staff, and administration.
It's been 50 years of classes at Co-Greene! On September 15, 1969, Columbia-Greene Community College opened its doors for the first time. Nearly 350 full- and part-time students took their seats, while 18 faculty members headed to the front of their classrooms. The NY Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions.
