The Corrections Officer Academy at Columbia-Greene Community College will hold a drop-in information session regarding its upcoming Pre-Employment Corrections Officer Basic Training Course on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Those interested in careers within correctional facilities are encouraged to attend, meet with Academy instructors, and learn more about the training opportunities offered by the Corrections Officer Academy at C-GCC, which graduated its first class in June 2018 and returns for the spring session on Monday, March 11.
The program is a 211.5-hour course that provides pre-employment basic-training for positions within city- and county-operated facilities, and is approved by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) to satisfy the phase-one requirements of the DCJS Basic Course for Corrections Officers.
