Defensive Driving Course Returns to C-GCC Saturday, Nov. 23

The popular Defensive Driving course at Columbia-Greene Community College will return on Saturday, Nov. 23, on the C-GCC campus.

Each student in this non-credit course receives a workbook and a NYS Department of Motor Vehicle Driver Manual in this classroom course about crash avoidance techniques, and graduates qualify for a reduction of up to four points from their driving record for violations received during the 18 months prior to completion of this course.

Students who pass the course also become eligible for a minimum insurance reduction of 10% for three years in the base rate of liability, no-fault, and collision premiums. Students may repeat this course every 18 months for point reduction only.

This course is presented in cooperation with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles, the NYS Department of Insurance and the Empire Safety Council. Students must register in advance, and class begins promptly at 9 a.m., at which time students must be seated with all paperwork completed. There will be absolutely no admittance after 9 a.m., as required by the Empire Safety Council.

Instructor Victor Bujanow is certified by the Empire Safety Council, Instructor Code #21-AGD. The class meets for only one Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and the course fee is $42.
