While we are still enjoying some great fall weather, why not check out the scenery in our counties and those that neighbor us:
Outdoor recreation in Dutchess County includes biking, hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, archery, skeet shooting and more.
Hike the trails at the Albany Pine Bush, kayak at Thompson Lake State Park, or go deep underground at Howe Caverns. Albany offers four seasons of outdoor fun.
The Ashokan Rail Trail is open to the public from sunrise to sunset year-round. The 11.5-mile recreational trail runs along Ashokan Reservoir between West Hurley and Boiceville.
There are four main areas at Mountain Top Arboretum: West Meadow, Woodland Walk, East Meadow and Spruce Glen. Each area takes about 30-45 minutes or more to explore.
Hiking spots include High Falls Conservation Area, several historic properties including Olana, outdoor art installations such as Art Omi, and water-sport opportunities along the Hudson River.
