Greenville, N.Y. Senior Signs to Play Twins Softball

Jazzmin Gibson of Greenville, N.Y., a Greenville Central School District senior, has signed to play for the Twins softball team at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson, N.Y.

Gibson signed a letter of intent to play for C-GCC at Greenville Central High School’s annual college-athlete signing ceremony on Thursday, June 6. Gibson’s first season as a Twin will be Spring 2020; she’ll begin classes at the college this fall.

Twins Softball Coach Peter Dedrick was on-hand to witness Gibson’s signing, noting that he noticed her abilities on the field early in her high-school career, while recruiting her senior teammates.

“I am very fortunate to be able to recruit in Columbia and Greene counties,” said Dedrick. “Softball is played at a very high level in these two counties, and Greenville has had a very successful softball team.

“Jazzmin has a passion for the game and has played not only at the high-school level, going to sectionals every year, but she also plays travel ball all summer-long,” he continued. “We are excited to sign an athlete – and a person – like her.”
