Introduction to Sociology

Introduction to Sociology is for everyone!  This three-credit course allows students to learn more about the world in which they live and to become better informed on topics such as race, social class, crime, and gender. 

Skills and Learning

Students who complete this course will have a basic working knowledge of the major institutions present in American society and their relationship to power, conflict, and social change. 

This Class is Perfect For:

  • Those interested in human society who would like to become more active, engaged, and informed citizens.
  • First-time students who are considering a college degree sometime in the future
  • Students with an interest in human society 

Course Schedule and Time Commitment

Students can complete this course in twelve weeks beginning September 28th.  The class will meet remotely from 2:00-4:05 on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. 

Cost and College Credit

This is a 3-credit college class, and costs $639 for NYS residents, plus student fees. The textbook and all course materials will be provided to students FREE of charge. You do not need prior college classes or experience to participate in this course; it is designed for all learners.
